In a field once dominated by male voices, these four trailblazing women have risen with unmatched passion, resilience, and talent to shape the narrative of sports journalism in Uganda. The Best Female Journalist award honors not just their exceptional work, but also their influence in transforming the sports media landscape.

Each nominee embodies a unique voice, compelling storytelling, and a legacy that continues to inspire.

Peace Diana – CBS FM / BBS TV
Affectionately known as the “Top Scorer wa CBS FM,” Peace Diana has solidified her place among Uganda’s sports media elite. From covering global spectacles like AFCON 2019, 2021, 2023, to the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, her dynamic reporting and magnetic presence have captivated audiences.
Beginning her journey at Star FM and Kingdom FM, she now commands the airwaves at CBS FM and BBS TV, bringing the world of sports closer to thousands.

Fifi Pinky Namiro – NBS Sport
From her early days at Dembe FM to becoming one of the strongest voices at NBS Sport, Fifi Namiro’s path is nothing short of remarkable. She shattered ceilings as a Uganda Premier League commentator on Azam TV and later made history as Head of Sports at UBC—blazing a trail for women in sports media leadership. Her sharp analysis and confident delivery now continue to shape conversations and elevate coverage at NBS.

Nassali Catherine – FUFA TV
Since joining FUFA TV in 2022, Nassali Catherine has quickly become a mainstay on the Sportlight Show, alongside Alex Mugalu Bisima. With her insightful commentary, consistent presence, and rising influence, she’s earning recognition as a leading voice among the new generation of female sports journalists making their mark in both digital and television media.

Namugema Resty – Star FM / Gomba Ssaza FC
A true embodiment of versatility, Namugema Resty wears many hats with distinction. Now serving a second term as Media Officer for Gomba Ssaza FC, she’s also a prominent voice on Star FM and represents Fortebet as a Public Relations Officer. Her grassroots involvement and commitment to local football make her a vital link between the game and the community.
